Love the ritual.
Not how coffee makes you feel.
A coffee alternative with 55mg of caffeine, zero sugar, and energy that climbs instead of spiking. Same morning. Different afternoon.
What's actually in the cup
55mg of caffeine. Zero sugar. Energy that holds.
Coffee gets you there fast and leaves early. Joe'y starts lower, climbs slower, and doesn't hand you the bill at two o'clock.
Caffeine is measured per prepared cup. Brewed coffee varies a lot: an 8oz cup runs roughly 95 to 200mg, and published averages sit nearer 150mg.
Joe'y vs coffee
It isn't decaf. There's no coffee in it at all.
Decaf leaves you in the same cup, with the same acidity, minus the part you liked. Joe'y is built from a different plant entirely.

You’re not giving up the ritual. You’re changing what’s in the cup.
Why Joe’y exists
I didn’t quit coffee because I wanted to.
My trigger was a heart condition. Yours is probably the two o’clock wall.
I ran track at the University of Pennsylvania and lived like a healthy robot: ate well, slept well, trained twice a day. I also found coffee, and it was love at first sip. The roasted flavor, the ritual, the boost.
Then one night, many coffees deep, I got dizzy and passed out on the library floor. The next day my doctors found a heart condition that made that much caffeine a bad idea, and told me to break up with coffee.
That was my trigger. Most people’s are quieter: the jitters, the afternoon crash, the cup that used to work and doesn’t any more. What we have in common is the thing nobody warns you about, which is that leaving coffee isn’t really about caffeine. It’s about missing the ritual.
I didn’t want a rebound. I wanted something just as good. So I spent a year in a messy kitchen with hundreds of formulas, chasing three things: a rich roasted flavor, steady all-day energy, and real farm-sourced ingredients. Legend has it there’s still cacao dust on my ceiling fan. That’s how Joe’y got made.

The part everyone worries about
Most coffee alternatives taste like a compromise. We don’t.
Joe’y tastes closer to cacao and cinnamon than to anything fungal. In a survey of 425 Joe’y purchasers, 93.4% said there is zero mushroom taste.
- One scoop, hot water, stir or froth. About ten seconds.
- Use water hot enough and it dissolves clean, with no grit at the bottom.
- Add milk and it’s a latte. Add ice and it’s iced Joe’y.
