Does Joe'y taste like coffee?
Joe'y has a rich, roasted flavor that is similar to coffee but with a smoother, more balanced profile. It doesn't have the bitterness or acidity of traditional coffee, making it a gentle alternative. Many customers describe it as chocolatey, slightly nutty, and the perfect amount of bitter vs sweet.
Is Joe'y a mushroom coffee?
Not exactly. Joe'y isn't a traditional mushroom coffee. While it includes functional mushrooms like Reishi, Lion's Mane, and Cordyceps, it does not have a strong mushroom flavor. Its smooth, roasted taste makes it a great option even for those who haven't enjoyed mushroom-based drinks in the past.
Does Joe'y taste like mushrooms?
Nope! Joe'y contains functional mushrooms, but it does not taste like mushrooms. Some customers detect a mild, natural earthiness that reminds them of coffee, but overall, the roasted chicory and chocolatey cacao lead the flavor profile. If you want a truly incredible flavor experience, we recommend adding your favorite milk, creamer, or coffee fixings.
What does Joe'y taste like?
Joe'y has a smooth, toasty, slightly nutty flavor with rich roasted notes. It's a mellow alternative to coffee and doesn't have the bitterness or acidity.
Is it safe to drink every day?
Yes, Joe'y is formulated for daily use. If you're pregnant, nursing, or have any medical conditions, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before adding new supplements to your routine.
Can I drink this while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Joe'y contains less caffeine than coffee and is made with functional herbs and mushrooms. However, it's always best to first consult your doctor before consuming while pregnant or breastfeeding.
Can kids drink Joe'y?
Joe'y contains caffeine and functional mushrooms, so we recommend speaking with a pediatrician before serving to children.
Is Joe'y an instant beverage?
Yes! Joe'y is instant and easy to prepare (no coffee pot or brewing required). Simply stir one scoop into hot water, froth or mix, and enjoy. For an iced version, prepare with hot water, let cool, and pour over ice.
Does Joe'y contain caffeine?
Yes. Joe'y contains 55 mg of caffeine per serving, about 1/4 the amount found in a standard cup of coffee. The caffeine comes from p. Cupana, a Brazilian berry known for its smooth, sustained energy. Combined with theobromine from cacao, Joe'y delivers steady energy without the spikes or crashes.
Is Joe'y organic?
While Joe'y is not certified organic, many of our ingredients are USDA Organic, and all are non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, and OU Kosher.
Is Joe'y vegan?
Yes, Joe'y is 100% vegan.
Is it Whole30 or paleo?
Joe'y contains ingredients like malt and cacao that aren't permitted on strict Whole30 or paleo protocols. However, it's a great fit for many clean or mindful eating lifestyles.
What is the shelf life?
Joe'y has a shelf life of 18 months. Store in a cool, dry place for best freshness.
Are the ingredients hand-selected?
Yes. Each ingredient in Joe'y is carefully sourced and tested by our team. We work directly with farmers and suppliers to ensure high-quality, traceable sourcing.
Is Joe'y third-party tested?
Yes. All batches are third-party lab tested for safety, consistency, and potency.
Does Joe'y contain sugar or sweeteners?
No. Joe’y does not contain added sugars or artificial sweeteners. It has a naturally rich flavor profile that pairs well with your choice of milk or creamer if desired.
Is Joe’y gluten-free?
Yes. Joe’y is certified gluten-free. Although it includes a gluten-free malt extract derived from barley, we use a proprietary extraction process and test to ensure gluten levels remain under 10 ppm with stricter-than-FDA standards. However, we recommend consulting your physician if you have celiac disease or gluten sensitivity.
What kind of cinnamon do you use?
We use cassia cinnamon, which differs from Ceylon in composition but offers similar core health benefits. Our formula uses a low-coumarin variety, safe in culinary amounts and known to support heart health, cholesterol, and more.

Joe’y is proudly blended and packaged in the United States. Our manufacturing facility is located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
How to Prepare
How do I make Joe’y?
Add one scoop (or two teaspoons) of Joe’y to hot water, stir well, and enjoy. Customize with milk, creamer, or sweetener to taste.
Can I drink it over ice?
Yes, you can definitely drink Joe’y iced! It tastes great chilled and can be prepared by dissolving the powder in hot water first, then pouring it over ice. Feel free to add milk, creamer, or sweeteners to customize your iced Joe’y just the way you like it.
Can I use a Keurig / Nespresso / coffee machine?
Joe’y is an instant blend and doesn’t require any brewing equipment. Simply use hot water for the best experience.
Can I blend it with coffee?
Yes, you can mix Joe’y with coffee if you’d like to cut down on caffeine while adding functional benefits.
Is the powder supposed to settle?
Some settling is natural due to the real, whole ingredients. Stir well or use a frother for best results.
Can I mix Joe’y into smoothies or baked goods?

Our mushrooms are grown in their natural environments on dedicated farms in Asia and Europe. We partner with a Swiss supplier to ensure full traceability and quality.
What part of the mushroom do you use (fruiting body vs. mycelium)?
We use 100% fruiting body mushrooms, which contain the highest concentrations of active compounds.
Orders & Shipping
Do you ship internationally?
Not at this time. We currently ship within the United States, but we’re exploring international options. Let us know where you’d like to see us ship next!
How long will my order take to arrive?
Typically, orders are shipped within 1-2 business days Monday-Friday. Orders placed after 9am EST / 12pm PST are processed starting on the next business day. Shipping typically takes 2-5 business days. Delays are due to our shipping partner and unfortunately are out of our control. You’ll get a shipment notification email with a tracking number as soon as your package ships.
Do you offer free samples?
We do not offer samples, but we stand behind our product with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If Joe’y doesn’t work for you, we’ll make it right.
Has your packaging changed?
Yes, we recently changed to new packaging. Rest assured, the formula inside has not changed.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Can I change my delivery frequency?
Yes, you can easily change how often you receive your order. Just log into your account to update your delivery schedule.
Can I purchase without subscribing?
